Afghanistan's cultural heritage, unique in both range and value, continues to suffer from both the ravages of warfare and the demands of unscrupulous art dealers.

Until fourteen years ago, by which time, 135,000 of them had been forcibly evicted from Bhutan. The Buddhist Kingdom of Bhutan was pursuing a policy of ‘One Nation, One People.’ Unofficially, UNDP sources accuse Bhutan of ethnic cleansing.
